Cyera to buy nonhuman identity startup Oasis Security for a reported $1B

Cyera to buy nonhuman identity startup Oasis Security for a reported $1B

Data security company Cyera Ltd. revealed today that it is set to acquire nonhuman identity management startup Oasis Security Ltd. in a deal Israeli media report is worth about $1 billion.
Neither company disclosed terms. Calcalist put the price at roughly $700 million in cash, with the rest paid in Cyera shares. Globes reported that the two have signed a letter of intent and that Oasis will run as an independent unit inside Cyera once the deal closes.
Oasis Chief Executive Danny Brickman and Amit Zimerman started Oasis in 2022. Both are alumni of Israeli military intelligence Unit 81. The company sells tooling that inventories and polices the credentials machines use to sign in to corporate systems. Service accounts, application programming interfaces, bots and workloads all authenticate with no person behind them, and Oasis maps what each one is able to reach. Dormant accounts get flagged. So do over-broad permissions and badly configured credentials. The platform can rotate or retire those credentials without a human in the loop.
That problem has grown considerably as enterprises hand work to autonomous agents. Cyera said nonhuman identities inside Fortune 500 companies grew nearly 500% over the past six months and are now the fastest-growing identity type in the enterprise.
Buying Oasis bolts identity governance onto a platform built to find and classify sensitive data, giving Cyera a single control point for deciding what an agent is allowed to reach.
“Knowing your data isn’t enough if you can’t govern who or what touches it,” Cyera Chief Executive Yotam Segev wrote in a blog post announcing the deal. Identity data has the reverse problem, he added, telling a security team who is asking without telling it what they can see. Segev also warned that agents are arriving faster than teams can govern them and that an agent does not have to be attacked to do damage.
Cyera itself dates to 2021, founded by Segev and Chief Technology Officer Tamar Bar-Ilan. Its platform crawls enterprise systems looking for sensitive information and judging how securely that information is held. Unencrypted records and weak access controls can be fixed automatically. A separate product, AI Guardian, checks whether AI agents are complying with enterprise data policy.
The company has been buying steadily. Cyera acquired data security startup Trail Security Ltd. for $162 million in 2024, data lake company Ryft Data Inc. in April and Genie Security in May, alongside earlier deals for Otterize Inc. and Shape AI Ltd.
It has the balance sheet to keep going. Cyera raised $600 million in June at a $12 billion valuation in a round led by Evolution Equity Partners, taking its total raised to roughly $2.3 billion.
Oasis had raised $190 million before the acquisition. Its most recent round, a $120 million Series B announced in March, was led by Craft Ventures Management with participation from Cyberstarts, Sequoia Capital Operations and Accel Partners LP.
“From day one, we recognized that non-human identities would become one of the key security challenges of the AI era,” Brickman said in comments reported by Calcalist.
