Baidu starts robotaxi testing in London with Lyft

百度来了！这次是与美国网约车巨头Lyft合作，在伦敦街头测试无人驾驶出租车。这是中国自动驾驶技术首次真正“出海”欧洲，标志着百度Apollo的Robotaxi业务全球化迈出了实质性一步。通俗地说，就是百度把它的无人驾驶出租车系统带到了伦敦，与Lyft的出行平台结合，让当地用户有机会通过Lyft App打到一辆没有司机的车。目前测试仍处于早期阶段，但伦敦复杂的道路和左向行驶规则对自动驾驶算法提出了更高的挑战。如果测试顺利，未来我们出国旅行时，在伦敦打开Lyft也能像在国内一样打到“没有方向盘”的出租车，出行成本有望降低，安全性也有望提升。更重要的是，这将为百度积累大量欧洲路况数据，加速无人驾驶在全球的普及进程。
